Brian Dossa / Bass

On the bottom we got ‘em... Brian Dossa, a veteran of Cleveland’s rock scene since the age of 16, has played bass on the local, regional, and national stage, with many of Cleveland’s most notable acts.

At age 19, Brian was touring the US and Canada with the legendary Doors tribute band, Moonlight Drive, which included at the time future Damn Yankees and Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer, Michael Cartellone. After a several year stint with the Motown band, Victory Blvd, and some time on the road with The Paul Pope Band, Brian joined forces with Cleveland guitarist, Paul Sidoti, to form Obnoxious. Obnoxious became the house band at several Cleveland hot spots and as a result was tapped to be the backup band for Cleveland Indians players, Omar Vizquel, Mark Langston and Richie Sexson for their charity event, ‘Tribe Jam’. At ‘Tribe Jam’, the band played to a sold-out crowd at the 5,500 seat venue, Nautica in the Flats, with Alan White of Yes on drums and special guest, Eddie Money. The pinnacle moment of Brian’s tenure in Obnoxious was at Cleveland Browns’ legend, Bernie Kosar’s, charity concert at that same venue where he shared lead vocal duties with Darius Rucker for the evening’s Jnale.

As a recording artist, Brian has played with the Mike Farley Band and the Tony Lang Band. While a member of both bands, Brian shared the stage with such notable artists as The Tubes, 10,000 Maniacs and Better Than Ezra. As Obnoxious morphed into original band, Boxer, Brian performed bass duties on the album, “By The Seat Of Our Pants”. Boxer consisted of Dossa on bass, Paul Sidoti on guitar, Jeff Soukup on vocals, and Jim Bonfanti of the inTuential 70’s power pop band, Raspberries, on drums. On many occasions, Brian has sat in on bass with Jim Bonfanti, Wally Bryson and Eric Carmen to perform Raspberries hits.

Over the last 12 years, Brian has held down the bottom with Cleveland’s Breakfast Club. CBC has been a workhorse band, playing every weekend in Cleveland area clubs, festivals, and halls entertaining thousands of 80’s rock fans everywhere!
